This project required a careful balance of context, function, and restraint. Positioned on one of Sydney’s most significant harbour headlands, our approach was guided by the site’s military heritage, coastal exposure, and public presence.
We focused on working with the natural landform and existing sightlines, ensuring the landscape felt grounded in place rather than imposed upon it. Every intervention was measured, purposeful, and aligned with the site’s long-term use.
The scope included commercial landscape construction across paths, gathering areas, and surrounding open space. Curved pathways guide movement through the site, while robust hardscape elements provide structure and durability in a demanding coastal environment.
Integrated seating, lighting, and planting soften the experience, creating spaces that invite pause without compromising function or security. Materials were selected for longevity, low maintenance, and visual cohesion with the surrounding landscape.
This project reflects Manna’s approach to commercial landscapes in sensitive settings — respectful of history, responsive to place, and designed to quietly draw people outdoors.
A civic landscape shaped with intention.
